Reffering to Cuil Team’s annoucement they implemented some changes to their search engine’s indexing system. As we can read:

“We’ve just rolled out a new, refreshed index that addresses those issues. We’ve dropped dead pages and spam and folded in new pages from our recent crawls“.

The main purpose was reduction of expired links. Other changes were concerned on query processing. Read more at Cuil’s blog - here.

Since few days we can browse Hakia search results in more exact way. Now search results are divided in 5 categories, which are All results, Credible Sites, News, Images and Meet Others tabs. It is a great short cut of scaning the search results.

Now all results became more limpid, we can switch the type of content (blogs, pages, galleries etc.) we are looking for at the same page. It is a quite different way that G-gle tries to do it. Not so far ago Google implemented short information snippets showing us the type of content we can find on particular search result - vide image on right.

In tab Credible Sites you can find sites, which were claimed by information professionals cooperating with Hakia to contain the content matching to the greatest extent.

New service is also Galleries tab in the middle of tab bar, clicking on it we get access to images matched togather by Hakia engine and divided in categories - looking for galleries is the same as using veritical search engines.
