Yasni is a search engine dedicated to search for people. No matter if you are looking for a friend, movie star or politician. It aggregates search results from many sources and presents the list of them with reference to the source, and displaying possible ways of refining the query.

In addition to getting the search results, after registering in the service we can e-mail the query to ourselves or to friends, just to share our links. Yasni creates also a form of community - our search results are rated by others, so we can get sort of authority among the members, which is dependant on credibility of our queries.

PeopleJar was built around idea “search and be found”. It is not typical search engine for seeking people but rather a social service to connect people of simmilar interests. This blog is not a place to write about social services, the reason why I’m writning about it here are search tools that we can use in this service - network search and custom search. Both are quite advanced and give exact results.

Network search is a tool to search among members of particular network in the service, these networks are divided into many categories like for example Sport is divided into disciplines and Services into various jobs. Using the network search we can mark attributes like gender, age, years of experience, skills level, location and many many more.

Custom search tool enable us to make a very detailed query, we can look for the person of specific age/gender/location with specific music taste, speaking particular language and with specific interest at the same time. What is more, if there would be nobody in results, we can save the query and be alerted, when person matching our demandings will join the community.
