NEWS: GOOGLE HANDLING FLASH CONTENT
October 15th, 2008
Yesterday Brian Ussery from beu blog published post on how Google improved indexing of Flash content, annouced earlier this year. Brian made some research to answer the question if anything really changed. On his blog you can find a report on that issue.
From Brain’s report you can find out that:
- In fact Google doesn’t associate text content in Flash with the parent URLs although both URLs (Flash and parent one) are often indexed;
- Flash files be displayed in PageRank separately to their parent URLs;
- GoogleBot does not index URLs containing fragment idetifiers (so-called #anchors);
- Translations of Flash sites is still not possible.
Brain’s analysis is more in depth, you can find screen-shots and full desrption of his test, at the end you can find some tips for Flash SEO.
